On the margins of the BRICS summit in Kazan in 2024, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said that Belarus and Venezuela are working on a new roadmap to deepen bilateral relations. It certainly applies to the implementation of joint projects and an increase in trade between the two countries.
President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela Nicolás Maduro was sworn into office in Caracas a short while ago. This large-scale event was followed by a number of business meetings, which were attended by the Development Bank’s representatives as a part of the Belarusian delegation.
In particular, First Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of the Development Bank Roman Brodov discussed ways of increasing trade between Belarus and Venezuela at the meeting with Vice-President of the Bolivarian Republic Ricardo Menendez. The parties identified priority areas of cooperation to expand mutual trade and implement the most important bilateral projects in industry, transport, and infrastructure.
Also, at one of the meetings with foreign partners, an agreement was reached to create legislative and financial infrastructure for the Development Bank to provide loans for the purchase of domestic goods and services in demand in Venezuela.
