Investment projects are being implemented in almost every significant for the economy industry with support of the Development Bank. The amount of financing is different, but they all have common distinctive features - manufacturability, prospects and efficiency.
The implementation of another such investment project has been completed at LLC “Pozhsnab”. Here, with the financial support of the Development Bank, a new production workshop was built for the production of products made of reinforced fiberglass used to complete fire trucks. To optimize production processes, part of the equipment has already been transferred to the new one from the existing workshop, and new technological equipment has also been purchased: paint spraying and drying and abrasive-jet chambers, dust removal systems, top running overhead cranes.
In the CIS countries, “Pozhsnab” is the largest manufacturer of special and fire-fighting equipment, its strategic competence is the manufacture of high-altitude rescue vehicles. The company's specialists are developing new models of equipment literally from scratch, and all the electronic filling, software – domestic, not to mention large nodal parts that are manufactured at Belarusian industrial plants.
As a result of the implementation of the investment project, “Pozhsnab” will master the production of new import-substituting products that are in high demand in sales markets using innovative technologies and developments. This will make it possible to produce fire equipment with a high level of automation and safety, stability and strength, thereby ensuring a continuous and effective process of rescuing people in an emergency situation. The products manufactured through the implementation of the project will be supplied both to the domestic market and to the markets of the near abroad.
Today, the Head of State got acquainted with the activities of the enterprise and the prospects for its development, visited the design bureau and production workshops.
Oleg Deryabin, Director of LLC “Pozhsnab”, presented to the President samples of the existing model range and those that are under development. The path from design to a real sample, according to him, takes less than a year. Moreover, the models are tested right there, in various extreme and close to real conditions. Now the plant occupies 20 thousand square meters, and with the commissioning of a new workshop this year, the area exceeded 27 thousand square meters.
"Of course, I am pleased to see and rejoice for such an enterprise, your team. But as the President, I am interested in something else, important: if there is demand in the market, will we be able to produce more? I concluded for myself that such private enterprises should be supported. You, producing the final product here, have connections with many state-owned enterprises. Your vehicles fulfill a noble goal - they save people," Alexandr Lukashenko said.
Speaking about the development of the enterprise and its importance, the Head of State stressed that in this way the country creates its own competencies, its own production, in which other industrial facilities are actively involved. The President also drew attention to the competencies of “Pozhsnab” in the manufacture of parts for fire and rescue equipment from glass fiber and instructed to think over and calculate whether its wider distribution is possible, including in the production of passenger vehicles.
“Is it possible to replace all the cabins and other parts of buses with glass fiber, fiberglass that you make," the head of state said. "Specialists will study and report on whether it will be more expensive or cheaper to use fiberglass. If it makes economic sense, we will start making buses from fiberglass using your technologies.”
One of the obvious advantages of this material is that it is much lighter than metal. For such industries as, for example, aircraft construction, this is a significant factor. And for Belarusian products, for sure, there will be markets.
Aleksandr Lukashenko said that if necessary, he will set a task for Belarusian producers to improve the quality of glass fiber used for fiberglass manufacturing in order to avoid import purchases and fully provide themselves with their own raw materials and semi-finished products.
