Dairy industry of Belarus has been replenished with new modern complexes with the support of the Development Bank

Belarus is one of the main exporters of food to the world market. A significant part of the number of goods supplied abroad is occupied by dairy products. In order to maintain its leading positions, the agro-industrial complex of the republic continues to develop actively: existing dairy farms are being modernized, new complexes are being built, modern herd management systems and effective technological solutions are being introduced. At the same time, the construction costs of each facility are carefully calculated in order to ultimately obtain the necessary added value of products and a reasonable payback period from an economic point of view.

Every year, the Development Bank holds a competitive selection for the construction and reconstruction of dairy complexes. The main goal is to create the most efficient agricultural facilities for the country. One of the examples of such work is an investment project implemented with the support of the Development Bank in Grodno region. In Dyatlov district, on the basis of the commercial dairy farm "Zasetye" of the agricultural branch "AgroMilk" of the RUE "Belorusneft-Grodnooblnefteprodukt", the construction of two new cowsheds for 777 heads of dairy herds, a milking and dairy unit, as well as all necessary engineering and auxiliary infrastructure facilities was completed.

The new farm is modern and functional. It uses intensive technology for year-round milk production. It is based on the comprehensive mechanization of production processes and the creation of optimal environmental conditions for keeping and feeding animals using modern forms of labor organization. Also, video surveillance is installed in the main buildings and halls to strengthen control over technological processes. Upon reaching the design capacity, the average annual milk yield from one cow at the new facility is planned to increase to 7400 kg, and the gross milk yield – to 7200 tons per year.

The implementation of the project will allow the agricultural enterprise "AgroMilk" to improve its financial condition by increasing the volume of production and sales of products, increasing the profitability of production through the use of modern equipment and technologies. In addition, the farm will be able to solve the problem of overcrowding, improve cattle housing conditions, reduce culling and technological losses, which in turn will improve milk quality.

Another new dairy complex was opened in Beryozovka district of Brest region. On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the agricultural enterprise, a solemn commissioning of an important facility for the district, built with the support of the Development Bank, took place in OJSC “Narutovichi”.

The complex is largely automated and consists of two box cowsheds for 340 heads each, a milking and dairy unit, a building for keeping calves for 674 cattle places with a walking area. As a result of the commissioning of the new facility, 18 new jobs were created. When the commercial dairy complex reaches full capacity, it is planned to produce more than 7400 tons of milk per year with a milk yield of 9000 kg per cow.

In Beryozovka district, JSC "Narutovichi" is one of the most developed and promising farms. There are more than 6 thousand heads, including cows of the main herd - almost 2200. For eight months of this year, the gross milk production in the farm amounted to more than 12180 tons, which is 1000 tons more than last year. Milk yield per cow is more than 5670 kg, and it is 180 kg higher than the level of 2023.

The implementation of such investment projects makes it possible to gradually move away from tie-up housing of cows and close unprofitable facilities, replacing them with modern and functional ones. In addition, new jobs with competitive wages are created at such facilities, productivity and working conditions are significantly improved.
